Rose Wan | Independent Artist | Owner & Founder, Wan Proartduction
Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Rose studied drawing and painting with professor 劉文緯 (Liu, Wen- Wui). Professor Liu was her first and most important Fine Art teacher. After studying with professor Liu, Rose studied Painting at the Fu-Hsin Trade and Arts School in Taiwan. Soon after that, she majored in Sculpture at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts.
In 1991, Rose immigrated to Canada with her parents to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Film Animation at Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design. While studying, she received a BC Arts Council Cultural Grant for her fourth year of study. Her graduation film, Mosaic, screened at several International Film Festivals around the world, and was nominated for Best Animation Film at both the Vancouver International Film Festival and the Montreal International Film Festival. After graduation, she worked in the animation field independently for 6 years, and later majored in Textile art at Capilano College.
In late 2011, Rose founded Wan Proartduction, and is now working as an independent artist.
